Two rhythms, one address.

The café

Morning through late afternoon. Espresso and filter, all-day breakfast, a table you can keep for as long as the conversation needs.

The restaurant

Lunch into dinner. Italian plates, Indian grills, the middle of the table filled, and a patisserie counter that runs until close.

    Plaster, timber, stone, linen and a great many plants. Materials that age rather than date, and daylight wherever we can get it.

    No trend-chasing. The room is designed to look the same kind of good in ten years as it does on opening week.

    Care in the parts nobody photographs — the grind, the water, the temperature of the plate, the weight of the cutlery.
